Dulzura is located southeast of the City of San Diego, near the border of Mexico. Dulzura real estate consists of several farms, mobile homes, an RV park, and single family homes on spacious land nestled in foothills. Many newer homes are large, custom, and have elaborate design. Smaller homes are older but still posess great space and luscious views. Several creeks run through Dulzura, and along property lines. The community includes necessities such as a post office, local cafes and a fire station. The area is popular amongst motorcyclists who enjoy the ride along the 94 freeway. Potrero, meaning ‘pasturing place’ is located east of Chula Vista, 45 miles from Downtown San Diego, and just north of the Mexico border. Once used as farmland, this quiet area is inhabited by those who enjoy a country lifestyle with plenty of wildlife. Potrero County Park is covered in Oak trees, grassy fields and rocky hillsides stretching to 2,300 feet, an elevation that gets an occasional brushing of snow. This habitat has been mildly disturbed and is a growing lifestyle for raccoons, coyotes, mountain lions, and bobcats. Bird watching is very abundant in many varieties and reptiles abound as well. At the foothills of the mountains, Potrero real estate is mingled along oak trees and boulders. Homes are modest but land is plenty. The hills and valleys produce a rough topography and breathtaking views of Potrero Valley and Potrero Peak, along with neighboring mountains. Homes were slowly built from the 1940s and increased a bit in the 1970s. The Mountain Empire Unified School District serves Jacumba, Descanso, Pine Valley, Tecate, Campo, and Potrero; all are areas of San Diego’s East County and rank high in state scores. There is also a local library. Potrero County Park offers camping and recreation spaces including baseball fields, a dance pavilion, several playgrounds, and hiking trails. In town facilities include a general store, cafe, and post office. The town also a Christmas Tree Farm. Tecate is a rural area located 40 miles east of Downtown San Diego with only about 200 residents. Tecate real estate is made up of single family homes and trailers spread out across rolling hills, nestled among boulders and rocks and overlooking beautiful mountains. Some homes are even genuine log cabins! Population is low and living is simple Mountain Empire Unified School District serves Jacumba, Descanso, Pine Valley, Tecate, Campo, and Potrero; all are areas of San Diego’s East County. Tecate also has its own private religious school.
